Heat transfer or Sublimation (made up of carrier paper and inks) printing is a method of transferring a desired pattern via heat onto a substrate.
- Heat to a certain temperature
- Pressed with a significant amount of pressure for a certain amount of time
- Release, and your printing is completed
- Unlimited print colour combinations
- Photographic quality production
- Flexibility to print small quanties with multicolour designs
- Fully washable and able to iron after wash
- Anti-scratch marks
- Best done on lighter colours and if on smaller quantity is better than silk screen printing.
Points to note for sublimation:
- The printing process uses a special ink that is designed to work more with polyester or products with polymer coating - plastic, cups, metal and polyester garments.
- Permeates the coating of the material while heat transfer is embedded to the surface of the material.

- Ink is formulated to turn into gas when it is heated to reach a temperature of 400+ degrees while heat transfer depends on the time set to adjust the degree
- Printing last longer with sublimation method
This printing method can be applied on Umbrellas, T-Shirts, Mugs, Bags, Neoprene, Keychain, Banner, Mousepad, POS display and etc..
Heat transfer and sublimation printing method allows you to reduce your setup time, increase your productions and for some products and prints it will give the best result possible. The only main concern is its cost as it is not as economical compared with other print methods for mass production.
