EVA vs PVC

Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), is one of the materials popularly known as expanded rubber or foam rubber. Used as padding in equipments (e.g. Shock absorber) for various sports such ski boots, boxing, hockey etc,.

ODM makes many EVA products, such as footwear, laptop bags etc due to its functions-

  • Light weight
  • Easy to mold- Cut easily from sheets and molded into different shapes
  • Odorless
  • Glossy finish
  • Cheaper material as compared to natural rubber

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a thermoplastic polymer. A frequently used material due to its cheap, durable, and easy to assemble properties- Figurines and inflatable’s are some products made with PVC material.

Its intrinsic properties allow it to be used in clothing, producing leather-like materials. Cheaper than rubber, leather, and latex thus more widely available and worn. On top of that, it is water-proof and always used in coats, shoes, jackets, aprons, and bags because of this.
