Lantern Festival is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month of lunar year by Chinese around the world. In China, cities will be lit with bright and colourful lanterns to celebrate this special event. It is not to be confused with the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is sometimes also known as the “Lantern Festival” in locations such as Singapore and Malaysia

In conjunction of this festival, glutinous rice ball desserts or “Tang Yuan” is served. This dessert, commonly named 圆Yuan, is served when friends and family members reunite for the last day of the “New Year”.

If you are currently in Shanghai, try to visit “Yu Yuan” as lanterns will be exhibited starting from 2pm today with a minimal admission fee only.

With this, ODM wishes everyone a Happy Lantern Festival! May your reunion with friend and family provide you with bliss and happiness!
