Duty free shops are a famous location for spotting new promotional gift campaign ideas. I noticed this one befor embarking on a flight HK‑Shanghai. It was organized by a Chinese chain of duty free shops.

For any purchase of 550 HKD or more customers received a free cloth shopping bag branded with the chain’s logo. The bag made a practical gift. Indeed it was the perfect item for tourists or business men, away for the weekend, to carry around their shopping souvenirs! I’m still using mine!

Only reproach though : the bag was not well displayed. It was hidden by the packets of toblerone. One had to dig around to spot it – that said a bag of Toblerones does not sound so bad to me either.
Always be careful with POS promos to use them efficiently.
