Promotional Products Campaigns for July should be planned well in advance. For most of our customers we would recommend finalising plans in February. This blog should help you with brainstorming some ideas.

For example, Jewel Coffee, a local Wanchai Coffeshop is giving out free gifts to passers by in the street. Promotional Products are on display just down the street from ODM HK offices but there is a very Chinese twist. We spotted this Gift with Purchase redemption campaign being set up over lunch time.

Seeing the Calligrapher writing these messages personally certainly adds a huge degree of connection with the gift – sort of like a book signing by an author.

Meeting or seeing the artist always makes the connection stronger. Seeing the background of traditional trees set up in the mall, we really do get a holiday spirit. Can almost smell the pine needles from 2 weeks ago still with Christmas and CNY so close this year !!

There are ways that ODM could add value to this promotion. Calligraphy sets can be offered to get more people interested in the art. Custom Photo Frames or protective tubes could also be offered to protect these in transit.

On pack Gifts – Cigars with your Eau de Vie

The French brand Theo Preiss is an expert in supplying quality promotional gifts with its bottles of Eau de Vie. They are running a gift on purchase promotion at the moment in France whereby for each flask of Eau de Vie bought, customers receive a free set of two cigars. The cigars are even branded with the Theo Preiss logo which makes for great publicity.

However this promotion is maybe slightly less impressive than their last one : a free handcrafted wooden truck that served as shot glass and bottle holder. It came with the purchase of a bottle of their Eau de Vie.

Well passing through French Duty Free stores in Charles de Gaulle Airport I couldn’t help but notice this attractive on pack gift promotion organised by Estee Lauder. The famous cosmetics brand has designed an upmarket makeup case to give away to clients who buy their Sensuous body lotion and perfume pack. The makeup case is a classy purple leather and is branded on both the case and the zip.

I was not familiar with the Japanese superhero called Ultraman until I visited the 2012 Licensing Show held in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It did not long for me to realize that he id THE Japanese superhero to know !
