When shopping at Taste supermarket in Wanchai, Hong Kong, I couldn’t help noticing this gift on purchase promotion. Indeed my favorite raisin brand, Mariani, is giving any customer who buys a packet of yogurt coated raisins a free mini notepad.

Just last week, Resort World Sentosa invited its members to attend Hong Kong Cantopop Singer Sammi Cheng Concert. This promotional event was held to usher The Lunar New Year.

ODM has emphasized how important packaging is in order to stand out from competition, especially in the beverage industry. All businesses have different marketing strategies to create brand awareness, and RWS have definitely shown much creativity in this campaign.

As this was an event meant for its exclusive VIP members, its invitation needs to impress them greatly. Instead of the common classy envelop, they decided to use a different approach this time round…

Being the Year of the Dragon, using this theme was a smart move by them. By shaping the invitation in the shape of a dragon would catch the attention of many, together with its full colour printing was indeed attractive. The Dragon Year is also known as the luckiest and auspicious year, hence this would lift up the mood and spirits of everyone!

We like the logo embroidery as it creates a higher perceived value as compared to printed logo. Despite the simple design, the cap is still an effective marketing tool as logo is easily noticeable. Here is an original promotional item I spotted when on a trip to France. The product was a Chef’s top hat. The hat was customized with pictures of famous French wines and designed with the French flag’s colors.
