The Great Buddha in Lantau Island, Hong Kong

Next Tuesday Hong Kong will be celebrating Buddha’s birthday, falling on May 10th, 2011.  Next week will the the 4th consecutive 4 day work week in Hong Kong.

Kindly note that whilst Hong Kong office will be closed our Shanghai Buying Office will remain open.

Known as Vesak Day in Singapore, this public holiday fell on May 2nd so Singapore office will also be working normally next week..

Hope you enjoy the picture of the Bronze Buddha on Lantau Island.  Claim to fame = Biggest Bronze, Sitting Bhudda in the world.  Tian Tan Buddha, also known as the Big Buddha was opened 1993 and is located near Po Lin Monastery.  It symbolizes the harmonious relationship between man and nature, people and religion and is a major centre of Buddhism in Hong Kong.  It is also a very popular tourist attraction serviced by Cable Car, bus & excellent hiking trails….
